Flat plan aquinas magazine

for my aquinas magazine front cover I will use a medium close up of myself. I will represent a student at aquinas. to the right of my image, there will be a pull quote to intice the reader to read the magazine. this might bne because they can relate to the story or might be just interested in the subject. I will then use a pug to make the reader interested in buying the magazine for what free gifts you get inside (e.g free posters) this is like an advertisment for itself. I will also use an advertisment to for a band or company on my front cover, to interest people to get involved with what the company or band is doing and maybe buy the magazine too. a secondary image/story will also be used to attract readers who like that like the sound of that story.

Question 1- I found out that off my research that the Name "Breakdown" is the most popular name. This gives me a good vantage point because I have gathered information for my name of magazine of the poeple who are most likely to read it (metal/pop punk/dance)

 

Question 2- I have come across a problem because I have two answers with the same number of people voting for each. therefore I will have to compromise and make my magazine for people who to 3 or more gigs a year.

 

Question 3- This gave me a wide span area of what I could include in my magazine.

this contents has the essentials of what to be expected in a college magazine. in the top right there's a editors blog, this can be seen in most magazine's and is defiantly common in college magazine's. then the big masthead in the middle separates the editors blog article from the contents text. The text is easy to read and the images are clearly visable  

 

Magazine Front Cover Analysis

I decided to use this picture so I would get the aquinas sign in the background and also because of the basic wooden background makes the reader focus in on  the person and sign 'Aquinas'. However I decided not to use this image for my main cover photo because you can not see the persons face/facial expression.

This photo shows a low angle, showing a state of power. But however the same as ther picture above, the face/facial expression can not be seen clearly, making it hard to attract a reader.



I decided this photo because the face/facial expression can be seen clearly, and looks like a rockstar kind of expression, implying they dont care what anyone thinks of them, also like independant music.
